Photography tips
How this image was taken
To achieve sharp focus from the wooden walls in the foreground to the distant Pilatus in this backlight situation, an aperture of f/16 was used. The focal length of 22 mm provides a wide field of view that emphasizes the framing effect of the hut.
- Use a wide-angle focal length to utilise the structure of the hut as a natural frame for your subject.
- Select a small aperture like f/16 to ensure that both the foreground and the distant mountain range are in focus.
- Pay attention to the sun's position when shooting in backlight to balance the contrast between the dark wooden walls and the bright environment.
