How this image was taken

To capture the resting brown bear sharply at a focal length of 246 mm, a short shutter speed of 1/640 s was used to prevent camera shake. The ISO setting of 6400 compensates for the light requirements at the chosen aperture of f/6.3.

  • Use a strong zoom to capture the subject from a distance.
  • Include branches in the foreground as a compositional element to create depth.
  • Ensure a sufficiently short shutter speed to avoid motion blur when using long focal lengths.
