Photography tips

How this image was taken

Using a focal length of 400 mm allowed me to bring the animal closer from a distance, while the shutter speed of 1/640 s ensures a sharp image. The aperture of f/6.3 combined with ISO 6400 made this shot possible under the given light conditions.

  • Shutter speed: Use a fast speed like 1/640 s to freeze the animal's movement, even when using a long focal length.
  • Settings: Choose a high ISO if the light is insufficient to maintain a fast shutter speed.
  • Perspective: When photographing animals, try to position the camera at the subject's eye level to create a more direct connection.
