How this image was taken

Using a 400 mm focal length allowed for a large depiction of the bear from a distance, while the 1/500 s shutter speed freezes movement and the high ISO of 6400 ensures sufficient exposure despite the f/6.3 aperture.

  • Use a long focal length to capture the animal full-frame without disturbing it with your presence.
  • Select a fast shutter speed to keep the animal's movements sharp.
  • Adjust your ISO setting to the available light to achieve a correct exposure even with a smaller aperture.
